Course
description

This new course will explore using arts and creative based methods in research with children and young people

Course aim
This proposed new course will explore the use of creative arts based methods such as drama, music, visual arts, storytelling, film making, dance and online based arts activities in research with children and young people.
The aim is to create opportunities for exchange of innovative practice using creative methods in research through an advanced level Continuous Professional Development (CPD) course.

Course content
The course will involve a 2 day classroom programme at the University of Edinburgh. The course will be highly participative. There will be case study presentations from those with experience in using creative methods and opportunities for discussion and group activities. Resources will be available online. Participants will be invited to join an online forum in advance of the course.

The course is convened by Dr Susan Elsley and Professor Kay Tisdall who have extensive experience in delivering education and training on research and consultation with children and young people.

Who is the course for
This course is designed for those working with children and young people who want to develop their research and consultation skills. It is also appropriate for anyone who is moving into this field. There are no formal entry requirements.
