Abstracts
Abstracts should be 250 words long and submitted via our online abstract form or on the downloadable application form to be emailed to l.marshall@ed.ac.uk. Abstracts should identify the focus of the paper, the questions it will answer and the evidence or data on which it will draw. Abstracts will be chosen for the conference and notified as outlined in the timetable below. Presenters will be expected to provide copies of their papers in advance of the conference to be included in a CD for those attending.

Publication
We are hoping to publish and edited collection from this conference in the Palgrave Macmillan series 'Family and Intimate Life'.
If you would like your paper to be considered for this publication please indicate on your abstract submission.

Workshop proposals
Workshops should be closely related to the conference themes, and allow more in-depth discussion of issues. The proposal should clearly indicate the topic to be explored, and how discussion will be facilitated. Workshops drawing on policy and practice expertise, and opening up dialogue across the research, policy, practice divide are particularly encouraged. Workshops should provide a contrast to paper presentation sessions through a more discursive approach to the subject matter and thought should be given to including the participants’ expertise. Workshop proposals should be submitted via our online workshop submission form or on a downloadable application form to be emailed to l.marshall@ed.ac.uk. A timetable
for submission and notification is outlined below.

Practicalities
All those whose workshop proposals or abstracts are accepted are expected to book a place at the conference and pay the delegate fee.
(There are a few subsidised places available – please contact us for details). Co-presenters are also required to register and pay the fee.
All paper presentations will have access to PowerPoint. Workshops should specify resources required – PowerPoint, flipcharts and overheads
can be supplied. Any additional equipment needs should be discussed.
