Parenting and family capacity
were key issues in the recent election and recent
social research. Academics, policymakers and practitioners
agree that supporting families with young children is important
to future outcomes.
Is support for families happening in practice?
This event highlighted CRFR’s research concerned parental
support including:
• in-depth interviews with mothers about their post-natal
experiences
• evaluating the impact of Health for all Children 4
on health visitors’ relationships with families
• findings from the GUS project
The discussion aimed to engage with practitioners and policymakers
in order to mobilise new research, gauge how these findings
resonate with the experiences of practitioners and policymakers,
and to identify possible future research directions. |
