Congratulations to CRFR PhD student Mary Mitchell who has passed her PhD in Social Policy on ‘Family Group Conferencing: Contributing to longer-term outcomes for looked after children and their families’. Mary’s research involved testing the conventional ideas of outcomes and bringing together theoretical ideas  from recognition theory, empowerment and partnerships to do so. The PhD was jointly supported by CHILDREN 1st and the ESRC, and already is having considerable policy and practice impact.
