Using
GUS data
GUS is a rich and expanding resource for anyone carrying
our research relating to children and their families in Scotland.
The Scottish Government wants to ensure that the data is
freely accessible and widely used.
The datasets from Sweeps 1 to 5
of the study are now available to download from the ESRC
UK
data archive. Registration is required to access the
data. A series of steps have been taken to ensure that
individuals
cannot be identified from the data.
Sweep 5 Data
(Birth cohort only)
The following documents are
available to help you find your way through the data. They
can be downloaded here or through the UK Data Archive.
Sweep 4 Data
Sweep 3 Data
Sweep 2 Data

There are
1,128 variables in the Sweep 1 dataset.

We recommend that one of the best ways to become
familiar with the content of Sweeps 1 and 2 is to read the GUS Overview
Reports for Years 1 and 2. These reports can be downloaded from the
Publications section of this web site.
