In September 2015, CRFR published important research on young people’s views and knowledge about abortion. The research highlighted major gaps in young people’s knowledge about where, when and how abortions are provided in Scotland, as well as the stigma that is associated with the procedure.

In response to this research, NHS Lothian and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have jointly launched a new animated film which is the first of its kind in Scotland. This short film addresses the gaps highlighted by the research findings and provides the information that young people themselves have asked for, in a format which they will engage with. The film seeks to address some of the attitudes around morality, choice and gender that the young people shared with researchers.
