Project description CRFR was a partner in an EU network of family research organisations, called the WELLCHI network, a project on "The Wellbeing of Children: The impact of changing family forms, working conditions of parents, social policy and legislative measures". The project was funded as a Coordination action under the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission from 2004 to 2007.
The partnership was led by the Institute of Childhood and Urban World, Barcelona, Spain and included partners from Greece, The Netherlands, Sweden, England, France, Bulgaria, Norway and Germany.
The project set up and operated a network to improve our knowledge of the impact of changing family forms, the working conditions of parents, and social policy and legislative measures on the wellbeing of children and their families. Its goal was to bring into focus, co-ordinate, and publicize the results of research through a series of international workshops and conferences. CRFR participated in meetings, took part in the committee responsible for looking at ways in which statistics on child health and wellbeing can be harmonized across the European Union, took part in dissemination activities and convened a UK committee of local agencies with an interest in the project.
