What
we do
CRFR produces, stimulates and disseminates high quality social research
and commentary
on families and relationships.
Research
CRFR undertakes social research on families and relationships across
the lifecourse using both
qualitative and quantitative approaches. Our research programmes
encompass diverse themes
and inform policy, practice and debate in Scotland, the UK and internationally.
Our research
programme is collaborative and inclusive, producing high-quality
cutting edge research relevant
to Scotland today.
CRFR research is grouped around five evolving themes:
• Changing
families, changing relationships
• Health,
families, well-being, and relationships
• Growing
older and caring relationships
• Children
and young people
• Families,
policies, evidence and practice
Collaboration
CRFR generates and builds on partnerships across and within the
statutory, voluntary,
private and academic sectors.
Partners can work with us to:
• disseminate research findings
• develop a joint research project or jointly funded ERSC
CASE Studentship
• develop research ideas through events, such as seminars
or workshops
Using research
and knowledge exchange
CRFR aims to make research accessible to practitioners and policy
makers. We produce
a research briefing series, a regularly updated website and newsletters.
We also respond
to evidence requests from Government and other bodies.
Events
and training
CRFR hosts a range of dissemination and discussion events for academics,
policy makers
and practitioners. These cover topical issues and encourage debate
and networking. Join our
mailing list for more details.
Study
We run a programme of courses for professionals interested in family
relationship research.
There is also a group pf postgraduate students attached to CRFR
and we have ERSC recognition.
Consultancy
Staff at CRFR are able to offer consultancy in training, research
and research dissemination.
We also respond to calls for tenders.
Networking
The CRFR Research Network is a searchable, interactive, online membership
database for those
interested in research in families and relationships. Join
the more than 400 other CRFR Research
Network members and have access to an invaluable source of information
on families and
relationships in Scotland and beyond.
