CRFR Research Network
CRFR Research Network is an online database of people and organisations
interested in families
and relationships across Scotland and beyond.
It is open to members only and offers a unique facility for researchers,
policy makers
and practitioners in the families and relationships field to communicate,
share information,
publicise their activities and collaborate.
Individuals should be prepared to describe themselves and their
research, or their organisation
and its research interests, in the CRFR Research Network.

Collaboration
CRFR generates and builds on partnerships across and within the
statutory, voluntary,
private and academic sectors.
Partners can work with us:
• To disseminate research findings
• To develop a joint research project or jointly funding an
ERSC CASE Studentships
• To develop research ideas through events, such as seminars
or workshops

Consultancy
Staff at CRFR are able to offer consultancy in training, research
and research dissemination.
We also respond to calls for tenders.

Study
• ESRC studentships
A number of ESRC studentships are offered each year.

• Listening to children
Listening to children is a ten-week training course
designed for those who work with children
and young people and want to improve their skills
of research and consultation. For further

• CPD and training
As part of our commitment to enhancing research skills,
making research accessible and
providing access to research for a wide audience, CRFR
offers a range of short courses.
The courses are open to any interested parties. For
more information about courses currently

Association
• Associated Director
We are a consortium research centre whose main office
is at the University of Edinburgh,
with partners at the University of Aberdeen, University
of Glasgow, Glasgow Caledonian
University, UHI Millennium Institute and the University
of Stirling. Each partner organisation
may nominate two people to become CRFR Associated
Directors.
• Associated Researcher
To be eligible to join CRFR as an Associated Researcher,
you must be based in the
consortium Universities, and/or working with the Co-Directors/Associate
Directors of CRFR,
and be actively researching in the area of families
and relationships. A short biography will
be posted on our website, including a description of
research interests.
• Honorary Fellows
Other researchers who are actively collaborating with
CRFR on a project or who are
co-supervising a PhD student can apply to become Honorary
Fellows within one of the
Schools at the University of Edinburgh, linked to CRFR.
Again, a short biography will be
posted on our website, including a description of the
nature of the collaboration.
• Associated PhD students
All PhD students within the consortium Universities
who are conducting research on families
and relationships can become Associated PhD students
and be listed on our website along
with CRFR's own PhD students. There are regular opportunities
for students to get together
across the consortium.
• Visiting Scholar
If you want to visit CRFR on a formal basis for families
and relationships research related activities
for periods of one week or more, you can apply to become
a Visiting Scholar. Details of yourself and
your visit will be on our website during the year of
your visit and then archived.
All those interested in applying for Associated Researcher/Associated
PhD students status should
fill out an application form. Applications will be discussed by
the Management Team at CRFR
and reviewed annually.
