GUS is the longitudinal research study following the lives of thousands of children and their families from birth, through childhood and beyond. GUS provides new information that is helping to make sure that children in Scotland get the best start in life.
The new findings explore the influences on child wellbeing at age 8 using data collected directly from the children through a questionnaire. A further set of findings uses GUS survey data linked to inspection information from the Care Inspectorate to examine how the characteristics of pre-school education relate to child outcomes.
Topics include:
  • Family and school influences on children’s wellbeing
  • Pre-school education and child outcomes
