About this event
How can your research make a difference in the real world? This practical session is designed for postgraduate students and early career researchers working on families and social relationships.
Morning session (10.30am–12.30pm)
Helen Chambers, an experienced independent consultant with a strong track record in government, philanthropy, and the voluntary sector, will share accessible strategies for creating policy and practice impact. Expect practical guidance, examples, and discussion on planning, communicating, and influencing effectively.
Lunch* (12.30–1pm)
An informal chance to meet Helen and connect with academic staff with experience in knowledge mobilisation and policy impact.
Afternoon session (1–3pm)
A hands-on introduction to the uCreate studio at the University Library Service. Explore the equipment available to support your research impact, including cameras and green screen.
* Light lunch provided, please advise of any dietary requirements upon registration.
Who should attend
PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early career academics interested in extending their research beyond academia.
