Centre for Research on Families and Relationships

Welcome to our new Co-Director, Dr Nicola Boydell

We are delighted to welcome Dr Nicola Boydell as a Co-Director of CRFR, who is joining as a lead for our Health, Illness and Wellbeing theme.

Nicola is a Lecturer in Social Science and Public Health at the Centre for Biomedicine, Self and Society and Usher Institute, University of Edinburgh. Her research sits at the intersection of medical sociology, critical public health and healthcare improvement, with a particular focus on sexual and reproductive health, participatory approaches, and reducing inequalities in access to care.

Nicola will be working in collaboration with fellow Co-Directors Emma Davidson, Lynn Jamieson and Shruti Chaudhry, alongside our fifteen Associate Directors across the consortium Universities, on the Health and Illness theme and on cross-cutting work connecting across CRFR’s other research themes. We are really excited to have her on board and look forward to all that we will achieve together!
