Registration:
Youth employment is an on-going concern for policymakers and subject of social research. In this session we will hear from researchers about their work exploring aspects of youth employment and employment support. This event is a collaboration between the social policy subject area, CRFR, and the CAHSS childhood and youth studies network.
Event outline:
10.15am: Tea and coffee
10.30am: Opening remarks and introductions (chaired by Dr Hayley Bennett, University of Edinburgh)
10.45am: Dr Hannah King, Sociology, Durham University – “What does good work look like for young people”
11am: Dr Kevin Ralston, Sociology, University of Edinburgh – “Inequality in work and employment outcomes: some past findings and thoughts on future directions”
11.15am: Dr Emma Davidson, Social Policy, University of Edinburgh – “Putting the family into employability support: Fife Gingerbread’s Family Approach Project”
11.30-12am: Q&A and group discussion
